کتاب مجهول المؤلف «اخبار العباسیه » و جایگاه آن در تاریخ نگاری اسلامی

Interest in the history of the Abbasids may be largely due to access to a number of new sources. One of the most important new sources is Majhul ol-Muallef which is a historical work. Of course, some of the problems associated withthis work are still unsolved. These issues include questions about the title of the book, the date of itscompilation, the identity of its author and its historiographical value. The purpose of this article is tolook into these problems, and to make some guesses in order to clarify the vague points of the book sothat it would be used more for improving our understanding of the Abbasid history and policies. Thefollowing paper is a translation of Alton L. Daniel›s article which is on the history of the Abbasid dynastyand its place in Islamic historiography.

علاقه به تاریخ عباسیان، ممکن است به میزان زیادی مربوط به دسترسی به شماری از منابع تازه، به ویژه یکی از مهم ترین آنها یعنی تاریخی مجهول المولف درباره خاندان عباسی باشد. البته پاره ای از مشکلات پیرامون این اثر، آنچنان که باید و شاید حل نشده است. این مسائل شامل پرسش هایی درباره عنوان کتاب، تاریخ گردآوری و تدوین آن، هویت نویسنده و ارزش تاریخ نویسی و تاریخ نگارانه آن است. هدف از نگارش مقاله پیش رو، بازبینی این مشکلات و گمانه زنی هایی برای حل نقاط مبهم کتاب است تا این اثر برای پیشبرد فهم از تاریخ و سیاست عباسیان، بیشتر مورد توجه قرار گیرد. نوشتار حاضر ترجمه مقاله ای از التون ال دانیل در زمینه تاریخ خاندان عباسی و جایگاه آن در تاریخ نگاری اسامی است.
