«و سخت عجب است کار گروهی از فرزندان آدم!» مروری انتقادی بر کتاب اندیشه‌های فلسفی ابن‌سینا (یادگارنامۀ دکتر غلامحسین ابراهیمی دینانی)

The publication of flawed and substandard translations within a given field not only disseminates inaccurate information but, over time, normalizes unstable and defective renderings and thereby lowers the expected level of accuracy and reliability in translated texts. The outcome of this process is the corruption of the scholarly “temperament,” the degradation of readers’ taste and judgment, and the distortion of their academic standards. Hence, the critique of weak translations rife with lapses and errors is a necessary and worthwhile endeavor. The present article reviews and critiques a number of translated essays—rendered by different translators—published in the large volume Philosophical Ideas of Ibn Sīnā (a Festschrift for Dr. Gholamhossein Ebrahimi Dinani). Among the observable flaws in these translations are minor and major mistakes in rendering phrases, gross errors in the reading and writing of names and technical terms, ambiguous and unintelligible sentences, awkward and unstable prose, and various orthographic, typographical, and editorial mistakes. Proceeding to publish such translations without careful evaluation and the correction of their deficiencies and errors is indicative of the unawareness and negligence of the volume’s compiler, supervising editor, and publisher.

انتشار ترجمه‌های مغلوط و نامطلوب در یک حوزۀ مطالعاتی، گذشته از این‌که موجب نشر و گسترش اطّلاعات نادرست و غیر دقیق در آن حوزه می‌شود، به‌تدریج سبب رواج برگردان‌های نااستوار و عیبناک می‌گردد و در نتیجه، سطح دقّت و صحّتِ مورد انتظار از متون ترجمه‌شده را نیز پایین می‌آورد. برایند این فرایند، فَساد مزاج علمی، و تباهیِ ذوق و سلیقهٔ مطالعاتی خوانندگانِ این ترجمه‌ها و انحراف معیارهای علمی آنان است. از این‌رو، نقد ترجمه‌های ضعیفِ آکنده از سهوها و خطاها کاری است بایسته و شایستۀ توجّه. در مقالۀ حاضر تعدادی از مقالات ترجمه و چاپ شده در کتاب کلان اندیشه‌های فلسفی ابن‌سینا (یادگارنامۀ دکتر غلامحسین ابراهیمی دینانی) که به قلم مترجمان مختلف برگردانده شده است، مورد نقد و بررسی قرار گرفته. اشتباه‌های خُرد و کلان در ترجمۀ عبارات، غلط‌های فاحش در خوانش و نگارش اسامی و اصطلاحات، جملات مبهم و نامفهوم و نثر نارسا و نااستوار، انواع خطاهای املایی و حروف‌نگاشتی و ویرایشی، از جمله ایرادات قابل مشاهده در این برگردان‌هاست. مبادرت به چاپ چنین ترجمه‌هایی، بدون ارزیابی دقیق و رفع نواقص و اشکالات آنها، نمودار مراتب ناآگاهی و سهل‌انگاری گردآورنده و مُشرِف و ناشر کتاب نامبرده است.
