وقتی مترجم کیهان را بر ذهن نیگل آوار میکند نقد و بررسی ترجمه کتاب ذهن و کیهان

Thomas Nigel, in his recent work, briefly titled as the Mind and the Cosmos, tries to stand against every kind of naturalistic interpretations of the three categories of consciousness, cognition and value; and deny the Darwinians’ materialistic explanation of them. This book should be considered as the continuation of Nigel’s intellectual process. Over the years of his scientific work, he has always tried to oppose any conventional naturalistic approach to non-physical affairs. In this paper, the author is going to review the book translationdone by Javād Heidari and published by Negāh-e Mo’āser publishing house in 1392. Regarding this, he provides some examples from the translation and points out the translator’s problems, and then he presents his own translation. By mentioning some of the words and phrases which are translated incorrectly, or are not translated at all, he also talks about some of the editing and Persian prose problems.

تامـس نیـگل در اثـر اخیـر خـود بـا نـام اختصـاری ذهـن و کیهـان، تـاش میکنـد بـا توجـه بـه سـه مقولـه آ گاهـی، شـناخت و ارزش، در برابـر هرگونـه تفسـیر طبیعتگرایانـه از ایـن امـور بایسـتد و تفسـیر مـادی انـگاری داروینیـان از آنهـا را انـکار کنـد. کتـاب مذکـور را بایـد در ادامـه سـیر فکـری نیـگل دانسـت کـه در طـول سـالها فعالیـت علمـی خـود همـواره تـاش کـرده بـا هرگونـه رویکـرد طبیعتگرایانـه مرسـوم از امـور غیـر فیزیکـی مخالفـت نمایـد. نویسـنده در نوشـتار پیـش رو، میکوشـد ترجمـه ایـن اثـر را کـه توسـط جـواد حیـدری صـورت گرفتــه و در ســال 1392توســط نشــر نــگاه معاصــر بــه چــاپ رســیده، در بوتــه نقــد و بررســیقــرار دهــد. وی در راســتای ایــن هــدف، بــا ارائــه شــاهد مثالهایــی از متــن ترجمهشــده و اشـکالات مترجـم، ترجمـه پیشـنهادی خـود را ارائـه میدهـد. همچنیـن بـا اشـاره بـه برخـی کلمــات و شــبه جما تــی کــه اشــتباه ترجمــه شــده و ترجمــه نشــدهاند، برخــی اشــکالات ویرایشـی و نثـر فارسـی را متذکـر میشـود.
