«هزار و یک شب» در غرب

It is generally believed that it was the French orientalist Anton Gālān who for the first time in the history of European literature translated The Thousand and One Nights into French. Having discussed the history of the translation of The Thousand and One Nights in France, Dr. Sharifi, in the present article, expounds on the translation of this book by various writers in Europe in two stages. Following this, he goes on to point out some of the cultural and scientific accomplishments of this translation in Europe, and in the last part of the article he examines the oral effect of The Thousand and One Nights in the West.

عموماً چنین تصور می شود برای اولین بار در تاریخ ادبیات اروپا، شرق شناس فرانسوی آنتوان گالان اقدام به ترجمه هزار و یک شب به زبان فرانسوی کرده است. نویسنده در مقاله خویش، ابتدا با ذکر تاریخچه ترجمه کتاب هزار و یک شب در فرانسه، به بیان ترجمه این کتاب در اروپا توسط نویسندگان مختلف در دو مرحله می پردازد. سپس در ادامه به دستاوردهای فرهنگی و علمی ترجمه هزار و یک شب در اروپا اشاره کرده و در نهایت با بررسی تأثیر شفاهی هزار و یک شب در غرب، مقاله خویش را به پایان می رساند.
